Straw2Shrooms - From Paddy Straw to Premium Mushrooms
Ecological & Economic Metrics

Environmental & Rural Economic Impact

Converting agricultural residues into valuable commercial commodities creates tangible carbon reductions, eliminates hazardous PM2.5 emissions, and builds diversified farmer income.

01

Air Quality Preservation

Diverting 1 tonne of paddy straw from open combustion prevents approximately 1.46 tonnes of CO2 and 3.1 kg of fine toxic PM2.5 particulates from entering the atmosphere.

02

Direct Farmer Revenue

Provides smallholder farmers with ₹2,000–₹2,500 per tonne of baled stubble or ₹45,000+ net profit per cottage mushroom cultivation cycle during winter months.

03

Soil Humus Replenishment

Post-harvest Spent Mushroom Substrate (SMS) is returned to agricultural fields as rich biological humus, reducing chemical synthetic fertilizer reliance.
